The season to visit Anahawan

If you are an Anahawnon who has been away from Anahawan for quite some time, you probably are looking forward to seeing our beautiful home town any time soon. For many Anahawnons, one of the most anticipated dates is June 13, that is, the Fiesta of San Antonio de Padua.

However, many of us would like to start our vacations at least around a week before this date and up to about a week after. The Fiesta, however, is not just the only reason why we choose to schedule our vacation around these dates. Typically, a series of Fiesta-related activities starts about 2 weeks in advance. Usually it includes sports activities like basketball and volleyball. It could also include singing, dancing, and other talent contests on some nights. And then for SAHS Alumni, there is an alumni night held usually on the 11th of June. The Fiesta Bisperas follows, and then of course, the Fiesta Katud-anan.

If you still have more appetite for vacation, not yet endangered of losing your job due to excessive leaves or absences, and of course, still have more resources in your wallet, you may opt to wait for the celebration of Fiesta San Juan on the 24th. If you still have more skin left to burn, Fiesta of St. Peter and Paul, known commonly to us as San Pedro, might be a good way for a completely tanned skin.

It is also common for weddings and baptisms to be held during this season, adding more justifications to schedule vacations around these dates. The only setback about having these dates for vacation is that the weeks usually coincide with the start of classes hindering many teachers, parents, and students from going home or staying longer in town around these dates.
