Our vacation this June 2010 was so filled with daily fun activities. We were enjoying every moment of it that I almost did not notice that it was already our last vacation day. It was already the late part of the day yet I still need to do one important thing to complete our vacation:
a sacred dip into the Anahawnon sea. As a bonus, I took Baby Me and Mrs. Me to one of the most spectacular beaches in the Anahawnon shores, Kaperoy!... where else?
It was already 3 days after the official date but the beaches of Anahawan was still filled with reverberations of the SAHS Alumni Homecoming. On our way along the shore from Tagup-on to Kaperoy, I came across some group of Alumni batches having some beach parties. I had hard time recognizing some of them but with the help of facebook comments I was able to confirm that one of those groups was from Batch ’92. After a swim at the Kaperoy sea, I spent some moments with Batch ‘95 and Batch 2000 to say hi and for some picture taking too.
Back to the title of this blog post, it is not in any way related to the inauguration of our President Noynoy Aquino last week nor to the farewell message of outgoing President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. It refers to someone who is as important as these personalities though, at least to us, SAHS Alumni. I am referring to no other than the SAHS Alumni President, Mr. Dojane Locsin. By the way, I finally got a facebook friend request from him, which means he is now as connectable as the rest of us! :)
On that stroll to Kaperoy, it is by luck that I bumped into Dojane Locsin who just seem out of words to thank every alumni for the success of the recent anniversary and home coming. During our very short conversation, together with Batch ’95, I felt honored when Dojane asked me to relay his thanks for the “all out support” of all alumni. He also shared that as much as everyone has been “very positive”, there were also some challenges encountered during the preparation stages. One of those challenges that needed to be dealt with is the aftermath of the recent May 2010 elections where some relationships have been affected. With one common goal among every alumnus/alumna, this challenge has been reduced to a simple stepping stone. Kudos to Mr. President and to everyone’s cooperation!
In that short encounter, Dojane also pronounced that there will be another homecoming next year and even implied that it will be much more than what we had this year.
“Mas Grabe ang competition next year! Naa na jud tanan! Mas grabe na jud!,” he excitedly announced.
Here is a short video of that encounter with the president.
