Anahawnon Entrepreneurship - Taking it to the Next Level

The fruits of hard work and persistence have always been the same - achievements and success, no matter how modest. If you are looking for another proof you need not look further, for another Anahawnon has just taken another step to the next level.

On April 23, 2010, Ormoc City witnessed the opening of its newest business establishment set by our fellow Anahawnon.
The opening of Cycle King was marked with an impressively long motorcade of extraordinarily disciplined motorcycle riders before the usual ribbon cutting ceremony. It is currently the city's newest retailer of motorcycle parts and accessories.

Cycle King is set up and ran by Ms. Gene Villasotes-Tse, who is born, raised, and schooled in Anahawan. She took college in St. Joseph Maasin. After trying employment for a relatively short time, she decided to take risks and put up her own business. She is now a full time mother of three in addition to being an entrepreneur. With due respect to Ms. Tse, I would like to limit details about personal life in this post. What is important for me right now is that I found another inspiration to write about and hope my readers would find another encouragement, if not another Anahawnon to be proud of, to say to ourselves that if she can, yes we can too. The last thing I can say about her is that she loves to travel to different countries around the world.

Like many other entrepreneurs, I am pretty sure that she, too, had her own share of challenges in her entry in the world of entrepreneurship. But today, I re-learned a quote written in the wall of my college quarters years ago:

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

It is also only today that I learned that this great quote is the words of Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States, 1932 (source).

If you know other Anahawnons who have made good in their own line of expertise, whether it is in business, employment, science, engineering, etc.., or even acting :), please feel free to contact me or leave me some comments below and I will be more than happy to feature them here.
